Since 1976, Joyce and her husband, Michael vacationed on the Island which eventually led to the decision to leave the city life behind and start anew on Nantucket. So in 1985, that dream became reality as they moved permanently to Nantucket into a custom built home they designed for themselves. They have since had several investment homes island wide including a waterfront property in Madaket but currently, Joyce and her husband, Michael reside in their historic Main Street home which they have lovingly restored. Once established on the Island, Joyce became a real estate agent, thus began her second full time career - Real Estate. Joyce has been an active full time Realtor and member in good standing with the Cape Cod and Islands Board of Realtors and Massachusetts Association of Realtors since 1986. Joyce also holds her Broker’s license, several educational designations including Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) and Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) and continues to attend class time requirements to obtain additional professional designations. She values strong education and ethics course training which enables her to remain in the forefront of the competitive nature of the business. Joyce believes in providing the utmost care to her clients and customers, prides herself on the attention to detail and commitment that she gives all her buyers and sellers equal consideration. With her excellent knowledge of the real estate business, her willingness and hard work and her friendly attitude, Joyce has the edge over her competitors. Joyce is a true people’s person. As an active participant in real estate on Nantucket, Joyce has been past chairperson of the Listing Service Oversight committee (LSOC) for the LINKlisting service, past secretary of the Nantucket Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) education committee, and currently designated representative of the Nantucket Professional Standards and Arbitration committee, and a member of the MAC committee. She volunteers for Meals on Wheels and Coast Sweep. Joyce also contributes her time to her special interest groups. Prior to relocating to Nantucket, Joyce was employed for 16 years at a worldwide transportation company supervising their customer service division. She utilizes her business background in the day to day interactions with her customers and clients. She also applies her expertise to the many aspects of her daily Real Estate career. Joyce has resided on Nantucket Island since 1985. She was born and raised in New Jersey, attended schools in the state and currently owns a prime beach property at the Jersey Shore. Joyce’s immediate family are homeowners within the state and she plans her visits with them throughout the year. When not in the office, Joyce enjoys a broad range of hobbies, which include all types of sports, cruising and vacation travel. She also is involved in all facets of the dog world including confirmation competition, obedience training and rescue. In fact, Joyce’s Standard Poodle, GCH Unique Once in a Blue Moon has been shown at the Westminster Dog Show, and he remains one of Massachusetts top winning champion standard poodles in the state.
